Guidelines
Writer Guidelines
As a writer, you are expected to create a fanfic that is, at minimum, 3k words. You can write as much as you want beyond that!As a writer you will be required to pitch an idea for an artist to select and create a fic for. You pitch will need to include:
At least one paragraph describing your idea, and/or an outline of your intended fic plan.
An estimated rating of your piece (SFW / NSFW / DD) and what rating you will be happy to have for art
What you are and aren't comfortable with receiving for the fic (i.e what you do not want included in the art (e.g. if you don’t want a nsfw piece), and what ratings you are comfortable with.)
The fic you create for the bang:
Must be an original piece, created only by you. NO AI USE will be permitted. This is a bannable offense.
Should not be a continuation of an existing fic, but can be a more fleshed out version of a previous concept/idea (e.g. a twitter thread, or a WIP you have not shared/posted).
Can contain NSFW / DD, as long as it is appropriately tagged and discussed with your artist.
Should be entirely completed before the posting time.
Does not need to be posted all at once. You've got the entire month of January to post if you create a multi-chapter fic.
Artist Guidelines
Artists must create at least one (1) fully rendered piece in your style. It can be in any medium; including digital and traditional. Just make sure you will be able to upload it in a high quality.
It must be your own work. NO AI USE will be permitted. This is a bannable offense.
You will be expected to look through the pitches and select a top 5.
We will not be operating on a “first come first served” basis when it comes to pitch selections, as we know life can get in the way and everyone has different timezones.Full backgrounds in your final piece are encouraged but not required. Please ensure you keep to the schedule and finish your piece before the posting period.
Beta Reader/Pinch Hitter Guidelines
Beta Readers: Will be working closely with writers to assist them. Communicate clearly with the writers and ensure that you provide the advice/support they request!Writer Pinch Hitters: We will show you the artist's artwork and see if you can create a story based on what they have drawn.Artist Pinch Hitters: We will show you the fic and see if you can create something based on the scenes/plot that is there.
FAQ
What is a bang? How does it work?
A “Bang” is a fan-created event where creators come together to create for a specific ship/character/theme, with ours being for the romantic relationships featuring a bottom! Anaxagorus dynamic from Honkai: Star Rail specifically. These events are free for everyone to join; no application required! The sign up forms are just to keep track of who joins, and as what. It's not a zine, so there will be no physical renditions of the creations.A bang has a writer pitching an idea—usually a small paragraph/outline, along with some tags to show what they would make a fic for—and then an artist will pick their top 5 pitches from the writer's submissions. Moderators will then be matching Writers and Artists together based on the selected pitches.Don't worry if you don't know how to go about the pitching process by the way; we (the mods) will help you out!
SFW/NSFW?
SFW, NSFW, and DD will be allowed as this is going to be an 18+ event. We only ask that you keep everything in appropriate channels in the server and make sure everything is tagged appropriately.
What if there is an uneven amount of writers/artists?
Sign ups will be happening at the same time so we can encourage everyone to bring in their fellow creator friends. If needed, we have the ability to adjust the schedule and extend sign ups as well. We will also be offering the chance of artists accepting multiple writers, or writers accepting multiple artists. We will endeavor to ensure there is an even amount of participants so everyone will get matched up.
What happens if my partner drops? What if my pitch isn't selected?
In the sign up forms there will be an option to volunteer as a pinch hitter in the case that there are people who end up dropping out of the Bang or a pitch isn’t selected. Some mods will be able to pinch hit as well. If your partner drops you will also be given the option to drop out; but we will also endeavour to give your priority from pinch hitters.
Regarding pitches…
We ask that at least one pitch per writer is submitted, with the exception of anyone who submits a DD pitch. If you submit a DD pitch, you must make a second pitch that is either NSFW or SFW. There will be a maximum of three pitches allowed, but keep in mind you will only have one match depending on demand.
Is there a max word count/artist requirement?
Nope! You can write as much as you want or draw as many pieces as you want! We only ask that the minimum requirements are met.
What if I can’t meet the deadlines?
We understand life happens, which is why we’re giving a week for each check in! If something comes up and you require an extension, please let us know in advance if you can. If you need to drop out for any reason, please let us know as well so we can ensure your partner is informed and/or adjust pitches.
Is there a hard limit on the dynamics?
Unfortunately, given that this bang is advertised strictly as bottom! Anaxa, we will have to ask that you adhere to this. But whoever(s) you pair him with is completely up to you!
Is this Bang for canon or AU?
Both! You may do canon, canon divergent, or AU!
Regarding pre-pairing…
Pre-Pairing (i.e. coming in with someone in mind who you want to work with) will be allowed only when requested.
